RPF Eligibility Criteria: The most significant point that must be known before applying for Railway Protection Force posts or any other exam conducted by state and central government organizations is the eligibility criteria. Eligibility criteria are different for different posts applied by the applicant but the most essential requirement is that the candidate should be an Indian citizen for all posts.

 

Considering the example of constable post, the age of the applicant must be between 18-25 years for both male and female aspirants along with that candidates must have a matriculation certificate affiliated with the recognized board, and graduation is required for SI post. Incorporation of age and education physical criteria is also applicable that must be fulfilled by pretenders. Age relaxation is provided to the candidates belonging to reserve categories.

Exam Pattern: The exam is conducted mainly in four segments.

 

  • CBT(Computer Based test):- the very first step of the RPF examination is a computer-based test which is conducted in many languages i.e. Hindi, English, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Gujrati, etc. candidates can choose any language they are comfortable with. The exam carried 120 questions related to Arithmetic, General Awareness & General Reasoning and conducted for 90 minutes. Each question carries equal marks in association with that there is also a penalty of 1/3 marks for each wrong answer.
  • PET and PMT examination: The second stage is considered as Physical Measurement test (PMT) and physical efficiency test (PET) examination and both tests are qualifying in nature. Candidates who qualify for computer-based tests are called for PMT and PET examination. These exams incorporate high jump, long jump, and 1600 meter/800-meter run.
  • Document verification: Aspirants who qualify for both the tests are called for document verification.
  • Training: The last step of the selection consists of final training of the candidates which at the end on successful completion facilitates their process of joining.

  • Quantitative Aptitude: This section incorporates questions of Number systems, Whole numbers, Relationships between numbers, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Decimal and Fractions, Interest, Fundamental Arithmetical Operations, Discount, Profit and Loss, Averages, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio, and Proportion, table, and graphs, etc.
  • General Awareness: This section is introduced in the examination to analyze the candidate’s awareness of surrounding activities.   • General Intelligence & reasoning: This section is included to determine aspirants’ analytical skills. This section integrates topics such as Analogies, Spatial Visualization, Problem Solving Analysis, Visual Memory, Spatial Orientation, Decision Making, Arithmetical Reasoning, Similarities and Differences, Relationship Concepts, Arithmetic Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Syllogistic Reasoning, Non-Verbal Series, Verbal and Figure Classification, Discriminating Observation, Statement Conclusion, etc.
