The BCCI has released the schedule for the IPL 2022 season. On March 26, the 15th season of Indian Premier will begin. At Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, the Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings will face off in the first game.

IPL 2022 will feature a total of ten teams. The competition has been expanded to include two additional teams: the Lucknow Super Giants and the Gujarat Titans. The other teams include the Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders, Punjab Kings, and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

IPL 2022 will include a total of 74 matches, including the playoffs and final. During the league stage, each team is required to play 14 games. The competition will begin on March 26 and end on May 29 with the final.

A mega auction was held before of the competition due to the addition of ten teams. During the auction, a total of 204 players were purchased. As a result, all of the teams’ squads for IPL 2022 have undergone significant alterations.

IPL 2022 Venues

IPL 2022 will only be held in Maharashtra because to COVID concerns. The matches will be held in three cities: Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and Pune. All of the games will be held in four stadiums.

The IPL 2022 matches will be held in Wankhede Stadium and Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, and MCA International Stadium in Pune. Each of the two stadiums, Wankhede and DY Patil, will host 20 matches. Each of the two stadiums, Brabourne Stadium and MCA International Stadium, will host 15 games.

At DY Patil Stadium and Wankhede Stadium, each team will play four matches, while Brabourne Stadium and MCA International Stadium will host three matches apiece. Only league matches will be held in these stadiums. The playoff game locations have yet to be determined.

IPL 2022 Groups

For IPL 2022, all ten teams have been grouped into two virtual groups. Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals, and Lucknow Super Giants are among the teams in Group A. Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings, and Gujarat Titans are among the teams in Group B.

Each team will compete in two games against the other teams in their group. They’ll also play two games versus the squad in the opposite group who is occupying the same slot. Each team will play one match against the other teams in the opposite group.

However, based on their performances, all of the teams will be rated on the same points table. The top four teams in the points table at the end of the league stage will advance to the playoffs.
